The previous year was another great success for the open source integrated circuit (IC) design ecosystem. It finished with two actions: second IEEE Solid-State Circuits Society (SSCS) PICO IC contest, known as the Chipathon , and first Code-a-Chip travel grant award. Chipathon installment in 2022 attracted 55 teams across globe, out of which volunteers selected 22 outstanding proposals. finishing line reached by 14 at end November (see summaries Figure 1 ref-type="table" rid="table1" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">Table ), after months global joint action, including weekly technical checkup meetings conversations on bustling IEEE-SSCS-DC-22 Slack channel.
